Game of Thrones Macarons

Things I have learnt about Game of Thrones:

If something bad happens to someone because they were poking around, it probably isn't a good idea for you to follow their lead. Oh, Ned.

Don't ever pick a favourite. (Favourites = instant death)

Nothing good comes from either being married or going to a wedding.

(Bonus: It still isn't really ok to talk about the Red Wedding)

Never trust a Frey, a Greyjoy, a Lannister anyone.

If you read the books and are ahead of the TV series then you constantly worry about spoiler verbal diarrhoea.

Dragons are totally badass.

Jon Snow knows nothing.

Winter is coming.

More importantly, the next series starts on 7th April. I am excited.

Macaron recipe from here. Basic red buttercream filling.

  1. Your artwork on the macarons is fabulous. I've only seen season 1 so far and haven't read any of the books, really need to catch up at some point!

Macarons are impressive. Painting is impressive. Your GoT wit is impressive. All together? I don't know how to convey my impressedness.

    1. Thank you E, sometimes I just look for excuses to paint dragons and direwolves on things, GoT is a brilliant one!

  5. This post has made me giggle.
I'm constantly trying to remember where we are in the series compared to having read all the books. I'm desperately hoping George R R Martin will write the others in the set soon.
I kind of love that so many main characters die, I find that utterly refreshing.
The first rule about the Red Wedding is: You do not talk about the Red Wedding. The second rule about the Red Wedding is: You do not talk about the Red Wedding.

    1. Thank you Kavey, I just have the last book to read (well, two books, as it's split) so I'm also hoping he gets on with the writing! I remember being so shocked about killing off Ned Stark in the first book, now I'm kind of used to it - you are 100% right that it is refreshing; I think a lot of authors pander to their audience! (I still can't talk about the Red Wedding, it hurts, kind of, spoilers...)

  6. I don't watch Game of Thrones but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate how utterly awesome these are. The artwork on them is amazing! I do watch a lot of TV though, makes me feel I should try and incorporate it into my baking somehow aswell!

    1. Thank you Kim, GoT is great in the sense that in the books George RR Martin goes into huge detail about the food they eat and the feasts, I get hungry reading them!

  7. Oh, I am still so upset about the Red Wedding - can't bear to think about it. Great macaron concept though.
